Private AI for energy, utility and industrial operators

Engineering drawings, asset data and operating procedures are sensitive, and many sites have strict limits on outside connections. We supply on-premise AI hardware and our partners deploy open-weight LLMs on it at your site, so operational data never leaves your building.

The risk

Why energy & industrial data should not go to public AI tools

  • Engineering and asset data exposed through public AI tools

  • Operational networks that cannot connect to outside services

  • Critical infrastructure security rules on where data is processed

  • Large document archives that staff cannot search quickly

Use cases

What teams run on it

Open-weight LLMs deployed by our partners, working on your documents inside your network.

01

Procedure and manual search

Search operating procedures, equipment manuals and safety documents in plain language, with answers that cite the page.

02

Maintenance support

Summarise work orders and maintenance history to help engineers find recurring faults and plan work.

03

Engineering document review

Extract data from drawings, specifications and vendor documents, and check submittals against project requirements.

04

Incident and report drafting

Draft shift reports, incident reports and permit documents from structured inputs for engineers to review.

05

Vision at the edge

Run vision models for inspection and safety monitoring close to the equipment, with footage kept on site.

Compliance context

Rules that shape where your data can go

On-premise AI helps support compliance by keeping processing on hardware you control. It does not replace your own legal and compliance assessment.

UAE Information Assurance Regulation (formerly NESA standards)

Operators designated as critical entities must implement the UAE IA Regulation, and other organisations are encouraged to adopt it. On-premise AI lets you apply its security controls to AI workloads like any other in-house system.

UAE PDPL (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021)

The federal Personal Data Protection Law applies to personal data processing in the UAE outside the financial free zones and sectors governed by their own data laws. It includes requirements for transferring personal data across borders, and on-premise processing reduces the transfers you have to assess and document.

This is general information, not legal advice. Rules change and depend on your licence, location and data. Ask your legal or compliance adviser which rules apply to your organisation.

Recommended starting point

Most energy & industrial teams start with the department bundle

Typically 25–200 users, running open-weight LLMs up to ~70B parameters. Every bundle is quoted to your users, documents and site.

FAQ

Private AI for energy & industrial: questions

Can it run at a remote site?
Yes. Team and Department bundles fit a standard server room, and open-weight models run without internet access. Our partners assess power, cooling and network at the site first. For very remote sites, edge AI hardware can handle vision and local tasks.
Does it connect to our control systems?
The assistant works on documents and exported data. Any connection to operational technology networks must follow your own security architecture and be approved by your team. Our partners design the integration to keep IT and OT networks properly separated.
Can we pair it with solar and battery storage?
Yes. Synapse Horizon also supplies solar PV and battery storage, so an AI server room can be designed with on-site generation and backup. Our engineering partners size both together.
Which bundle suits an operator?
A single plant or engineering team usually starts with a Department bundle. Utilities and groups running AI across many sites, or fine-tuning on their own data, usually choose the Enterprise bundle with liquid cooling and protected power.
Is this legal advice?
No. This is general information about UAE security and data rules. Your security team and the relevant authority decide what applies to you. Private AI helps support compliance; it does not replace your own assessment.
